Over the summer a small committee of parents began some preliminary discussions on setting up a committee too begin a Spring Baseball Training Trip. The group approached the Athletic Administration at Bergen Tech and received a favorable response provided the committee can raise the necessary money to offset the costs of a varsity baseball team plus two coaches to cover the expenses associated with airfare, ground transportation, lodging, and meals.
Although the trip is for just the varsity baseball team in order for it to be successful we would need buy-in and assistance from parents of all baseball players, so hopefully we can set up a system that can easily be replicated every year thereafter. It is incumbent that we do not make this trip only about the 2018 team but the future of the program.
A meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 8 PM at Bergen Tech Teterboro Campus – Room 906 (down the main corridor on the left hand side; use front glass doors for entrance) to discuss fundraising, trip options which are all cost dependent, and to determine level of commitment from the parents.
We have a very short window to make a decision and commitment, so it can be presented to the AD and Coaching Staff so they can make the final decision. Please send an email to Mr. Sarlo, if you are able to make it.
